LEYES is a regional database on legislation. It is produced by different institions from the health and legislation areas which are part of LEYES Network and coordinated by HSS/HP fom PAHO/WHO. and BIREME/PAHO/WHO.
It has bibliographic references on health legislation from more than thiry countries from Latin America and Caribbean. In some case it also has the URL to access the full text of documents.

The international instruments segment has the objectives:
- to present a catalog of the declarations, conventions, treaties and other international mandates with impact in health, separated by applicable articles and;
- to correlate the information of national level (included on LEYES base) with the accomplishment of the international instruments with impact in health since legislation ambit.
The international instruments inclusion on the LEYES portal acquires importance for decision makers not only on ministries of health level, but also of other State’s ministries and instances, as the social cabinets and social determinants commissions of health, since allows to count on an instrument to evaluate, since the normative, the progresses carried out in the countries on accomplishment of international agreements and mandates.
By the same reason, it also constitutes a tool for social and political scientists, the academic world in general and the civil society in particular, on the scheme of the new sector governability, of the State and of the international community.
